Alan is a qualified and registered chartered accountant with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and has over seven years in financial service sector and credit ratings industry. He holds a Bachelors & Honours Degree in Professional Accounting from Monash University. He completed his articles at one of the leading investment banking firms in Sandton, South Africa, where he majored in financial management (TOPP articles). Later on, he worked for GCR Ratings as a credit analyst, specialising on Corporates and Public Sector Ratings for South Africa and greater Sub-Saharan Africa region. Alan is also a co-founder of Prudential Ratings, together with the rest of the below team members.

Tavonga is the Head of Corporates & Public Sector at Prudential Ratings. He is qualified and registered CFA charter holder. Tavonga boasts just over a decade of experience in credit ratings space and corporate and investment banking with 2 reputable international banking firms. He was previously employed at GCR Ratings as a Corporate and Public Sector Ratings Analyst, where he worked on portfolio of credit ratings largely in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Eastern Africa. Tavonga holds a Bachelors & Honours Degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Zimbabwe.

Tich is the Head of Insurance at Prudential Ratings. He is qualified and registered CFA charter holder. Tich has spent around four years in insurance credit ratings and previously worked for GCR Ratings as Senior Credit Analyst, leading on a sizeable portfolio of ratings in South Africa and rest of Africa region. He has also a substantial number of years in equity research in the Sub Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia. Tich holds a degree in Banking & Finance from the University of Zimbabwe.

Kudzanai Samanga, CFA (level 3 candidate) is an executive director and is heading Prudential Ratings’ Banks and Non-Banks Credit Ratings Sector. Post qualifying with a Bachelors’ degree in Accounting from Monash University. Kudzanai started as an Equity Analyst at an Investment Advisory Boutique firm where he gained valuable experience as an equity analyst and assistant portfolio manager before he joined GCR Ratings as a Financial Institutions Analyst. Kudzanai has participated in numerous rating decisions of financial institutions in Sub- Saharan Africa. More locally, his portfolio covered almost all Zimbabwean banks funds and key money market funds and other Non-Bank Financial Institutions across Africa. After he left GCR Ratings, Kudzanai worked as a Senior Analyst in the Credit and Risk division of Housing Investment Partners, subsidiary of Old Mutual South Africa and NHFC.
